After a few hours of staring at the documentation, I have finally managed to type out the second song, “Free”, in Latex using the package. The migration process might be slow (there are many songs), but we believe that God will grant us the strength to finish this compilation. Typeface is not very nice, but content is much more manageable now as the songs are compartmentalized into individual files.
I have just picked up Latex, which is usually used for writing science papers, books, compiling math / chemistry / etc. notes. I’ve been wondering whether the songs listed on this site can be compiled via Latex.
A quick search seems promising. There are currently a few packages online such as LaTeX Songbook style (http://rath.ca/Misc/Songbook/) and GCHORDS (http://kasper.phi-sci.com/gchords/) that seems to fit the bill.
Having the songbook in LaTeX can be quite beneficial:
The songs can be compiled very easily with FULL CONTROL! on typesetting / new pages / formatting / etc. The alignment won’t be lost so that’s great.
LaTeX is very popular, so it won’t go out of date (v.s. editing it in a word formatting program which may switch to a new script after several years)
Easier for me to update the songbook
If you use Linux, that’s great! You can compile (read: convert) the LaTeX document into a PDF / DVI readily.
I think that’s enough plus points! But that means I would have to study how it’s going to be implemented long-term / manually update every song because the formatting is so different. That would take some time.
am excited about the idea though!

Today I was listening to Brian Houston’s podcast on “The Power of Appreciation”. It’s a really important message, encourage you to listen it if you can! He was talking about the importance of thanksgiving – being thankful to God for everything He has provided for. And yes, we really do have much to give thanks for! So here’s a song by New Life Worship that’s all about being thankful to what He has done. Chanced upon this actually. Enjoy and God bless!

Indeed, His banner over us is love, our cup overflows with His blessings, and He has done great things!

Went for the Go4th rally yesterday. Here’s a song that I thought was already on the website, but it’s not, so here it is! The artist’s story behind the song is really meaningful, go check it out! Anyways, it’s a reference to Isa 40:28-31 -
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is an eternal God, the creator of the whole earth. He does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his wisdom.
He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.
Even youths get tired and weary; even strong young men clumsily stumble.
But those who wait for the LORD’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.
God bless you!

Just want to highlight a new photo blog detailing some of the nuances of life. I have recently picked up photography and thought it would be good to share my thoughts. You can find it here:
Sorry for not updating this blog for awhile. I been tinkering with the electric guitar (haven’t managed to figure out the riffs!!) as well as playing the older songs. Like, focusing on the meaning of the words. Will post more songs when a good one with meaning comes along!
I found this song really encouraging, especially in this time of uncertainty. May we continue to remember that our strength is indeed small – we are nothing without God. Good Friday is coming soon.
May you be blessed and encouraged through this song!

Find in Me thine all in all.”
Chorus:

Verse 2:
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow'r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone.
Verse 3:
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus' feet.
Other:
C C/E
Oh Praise the One who paid my debt
F G C
and raised this life up from the dead (cont. repeat)
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
[Ps 46:10]
It has been some time since this song was written, but its still a really wonderful song. Indeed, hardship may come, but all we can do is to be still and know that He is supreme over our worries and fears. May we continue to submit to His plan regardless of what lies ahead. God bless!
PS: Capo 5 sounds nice as well. (:

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
He is higher than our understanding of Him. God bless!! =)
